ENHANCE THE FLAVOR OF WINE
Discover your favorite crunching and sipping combinations curled up on the couch savoring the luxury of taste.
CHARDONNAY
If you’re going to stick with a traditional popcorn, you might as well choose a Luca Olive Oil with a Garlic Pepper to go with a Chardonnay. The popcorn brings out the nutty flavors in the Chardonnay and the buttery flavors of the wine complement the soft and crunchy popcorn taste.
ZINFANDEL
Zinfandel is lighter in color than other popular red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. You’ll get notes of black pepper, jam, and licorice. The spiciness of the Zinfandel works with a fragrant, woody herb like rosemary.
BORDEAUX
Red Bordeaux wines are medium to full-bodied with aromas of black currant and plums. There’s an earthiness to a red Bordeaux that works with an earthy, nutty spice like Herbes de Provence.
PINOT NOIR
If you add a little truffle oil or truffle salt to your popcorn, an earthy Pinot Noir is perfect to complement the umami earthiness of the truffles. We love putting a lighter wine with Black Truffle and Garlic Pepper. YUMMY!
SAUVIGNON BLANC
A little sprinkle of brown sugar on your popcorn works with lighter white wines like Pinot Grigio, Grenache Blanc or robust blends. We suggest pairing this with Sweet Caramel and Brown Sugar.
MERLOT
A dry, Merlot has hints of dark jam and black pepper. The fruitiness and spiciness pair well with the jalapeño and the saltiness of the Himalayan Sea Salt.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
A dry full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon pairs really well with rich garlic, poppy, onions and zesty flavors of Everything Bagel. The red wine highlights the saltiness and bold flavors.
PETITE SIRAH
With all the bite of the savory styles but with a naughty extra crunch of a salty zesty twist, this wine is amazing with a Lemon Pepper and Blood Orange. It is the ultimate in popcorn indulgence.
NOW THAT’S PARADISE
Which came first, the kernel or the grape? Some of the oldest evidence of corn being popped comes from South America, with the Aztec “popcorn dance” said to have been taking place when Cortes arrived in Mexico in 1519. He later ordered the large scale plantation of vineyards to top up his depleted wine stocks from Europe, so it’s feasible that popcorn and wine pairing has had a long tradition dating back to the days of the conquistadors!
IT'S JUST REALLY YUMMY
All you need to say is WOW! Finally a popcorn for adults. There is truly nothing better.
At the end of the day or on a lazy weekend night, few things are more comforting than curling up with a glass of red wine or a big bowl of popcorn – so why not combine the two? Why Wine & Popcorn Go Together – The Science Many studies show that slowing down and savoring a glass of wine at the end of the day is genuinely stress relieving. So far, science has only corroborated that the resveratrol found in red wine helps our bodies deal with stress, but surely it’s only a matter of time before they confirm that bubblies, whites, and rosés help, as well. Meanwhile, the crunch of popcorn assists you in relaxing your facial muscles while the popcorn’s carbohydrates release the neurotransmitter serotonin. Of course, as with all wine and food pairings, there has to be a method to the madness.
